Welcome to Pro Nature Photographer
Welcome to Pro Nature Photographer, the new weblog dedicated to the profession of outdoor, nature, travel, and adventure photography.
My name is Charlie Borland and you can read more about me here. I decided so start PNP to fill what I felt was a void on the web about our profession. I determined there was a need for a central location that discusses, marketing, pricing, technique, the art, and any and all aspects related to the business.
We plan to cover are profiles of leading professionals in the industry from photographers to stock agents, publishers to photo editors, manufacturers and equipment, and much more.
PNP will include but is not limited to the following categories:
Profiles: Informative and interesting interviews with pro photographers making a living in the business as well as photo editors for stock agencies, publishers, magazines, and more.
Light House
Pro News and Views: Here we’ll post regularly about anything newsworthy in our business from events to milestones, industry announcements to opinions pieces, favorite places to environmental issues, marketing and self promotion, negotiating and selling, how to price images, essays on image sales that photographers have made, and much more.
ProTechniques: Just as it sounds; any cool technique that someone has developed or a known technique used in a new way. This will be everything from camera techniques to digital workflow, Photoshop and Lightroom, flash to macro, HDR to compositing, and anything readers will enjoy learning.
Future plans include the Progear department which covers equipment, a pricing survey, a store for items that photographers may find of interest, and a bookstore.
The success of PNP will of course come not only from our editors but the professional photography community as well. We heartily invite anyone with ideas for posts or articles to contact us and share your ideas. You can read our contributor guidelines here.
Wishing you a Happy and Prosperous 2010!
Charlie Borland
